Mensaje de texto de mi hermana (que estaba en Buenos Aires) al final del partido:

Que alegría!! Los primeros en cuartos de final, hace 40 años que no llegábamos!! Besos a todos

Esos 40 años de los que habla Vale son los que hicieron que el país saliera a festejar cada triunfo con una alegría y una fe eternas. Lo dije antes de empezar el mundial (Te queremos ver campeón) y lo ratifico ahora... POR FIN TENEMOS UNA SELECCIÓN COMO LA GENTE!!! Yo tenía esperanzas de pasar a octavos con esta selección, pero estos muchachos querían seguir más y más... arriba Uruguay!!!!

Y finalmente pasamos a octavos de final liderando el grupo con 7 puntos después de ganarle 1 a 0 a México.
Mexico también pasa a octavos con 4 puntos... me da pena por Sudáfrica, la verdad me hubiera gustado que hubieran sido ellos en lugar de México... pero lo importante es que la Celeste está ahí!!!!! ARRIBA URUGUAY!!!!

Caballos Cantores

Me acuerdo que cuando Martina era chiquita le encantaban estos caballos, en las sucesivas limpiezas de la PC los había perdido y hace poco los volví a encontrar por casualidad navegando por internet. Ahora les gustan a los tres :)

La verdad es que después de muchos años creo que por fin volvimos a tener una selección como la gente, a estos muchachos sí que les tengo fe. No solo confío en que no vamos a hacer un papelón (razón por la cual no quería que Uruguay clasificara para el Mundial en los dos últimos) sino que  creo que podemos cuando menos pasar a octavos... ojalá mi predicción sea cierta y estos muchachos nos hagan sentir orgullosos de ser celestes!!!

When I quit the band, over a year ago, we were on an indefinite hiatus. There was no drama or anger involved, and the other guys were very understanding. They are supportive of my doing whatever makes me happy and that goes both ways.

To put it simply, my musical interests have led me in a different direction. Upon rejoining, and throughout my time in the band, I was very excited about exploring the musical possibilities inherent in a rock band, and doing so with those people in particular. A couple of years ago, I began to feel that same excitement again, but this time it was about making a different kind of music, alone, and being my own engineer.

I really love the band and what we did. I understand and value that my work with them means a lot to many people, but I have to follow my interests. For me, art has never been something done out of a sense of duty. It is something I do because it is really fun, exciting, and interesting. Over the last 12 years, I have changed, as a person and artist, to such a degree that to do further work along the lines I did with the band would be to go against my own nature. There was no choice involved in this decision. I simply have to be what I am, and have to do what I must do.

Noel Gallagher confirms solo career

Noel Gallagher has confirmed he's planning to launch a solo career - just two months after he walked away from Oasis. Skip related content

Liam recently confirmed the band will not continue without the guitarist, and Noel has now spoken out about his plans to go solo.

He says, "I'm looking forward to doing my own thing, bringing out my own music. I'm glad that's what people want to hear. I am not thinking about much else, Oasis or Liam, I'm just having a good time."

Liam confirms Oasis are no longer

Liam Gallagher has broken his silence for the first time since brother Noel quit Oasis, and admitted the band is "no longer".

Liam confirms Oasis are no longer .The frontman has kept a low profile since guitarist Noel walked out moments before a festival show last month, blaming Liam's behaviour for his exit.

Now the singer has said the band will not continue, adding: "It's a shame, but that's life."

In an interview with The Times, Liam said: "Oasis is no longer. I think we all know that. So that's done. I know. Without a doubt. And it's a shame, but that's life. We had a good run at it. The thing about Oasis is ... we ended Oasis. No one ended it for us. Which was pretty, kind of ... cool."

Liam, who launched a fashion label Pretty Green earlier this year, said he was now focusing on his next move in the music world. He said all his efforts were on working out what he will do.

"I'm thinking of what the next step is musically, which is all my mind's on," he said.

The 37-year-old singer revealed he wants to bide his time before revealing his side of the split because he does not want his "Oasis headstone" to be spoken anger.

Noel had already made it clear, before he walked out on the band in August prior to the Paris show, that he hoped to record a solo album. Liam said: "People will be able to buy his records. People will be able to buy our records. So everyone's happy."

Liam - often accused of a lack of commitment to the band by his brother - said he had fond memories of touring with the band. And he said he missed being on the gig circuit.

"We've always had a lot of fun. I've always had a lot of fun. That's why it was never hard work for me."

Arctic Monkeys lead Q Awards

Sheffield band the Arctic Monkeys lead this year's Q Awards with four nominations, while Oasis, who recently announced their split, are up for two prizes. Skip related content
Among other artists with multiple nominations for the music publication's annual awards were U2, Florence & The Machine, The Prodigy, Kasabian and Dizzee Rascal. The prizes are handed out on October 26.

Arctic Monkeys, who have just released their third album, appear on the shortlist for best track ("Crying Lightning"), best live act, best album ("Humbug") and best act in the world.

Manchester's Oasis have been nominated for best live act and best act in the world, despite songwriter and guitarist Noel Gallagher announcing last month that he had quit the band due to a bust up with his brother and frontman Liam.

"The nominations are compiled from votes cast in their thousands by Q's readers, listeners, viewers and online users, so they reflect the choice of the nation's music fans," said Q Magazine editor-in-chief Paul Rees.

Noel Gallagher joins Kasabian on tour

The rock legend - who quit Oasis last month after a furious row with brother, and the group's frontman, Liam - will appear with the band on their forthcoming UK tour.

Frontman Tom Meighan said: "We've got our arena tour in November. Noel will be calling us up nearer the time for sure saying, 'Lads, I'm going to come perform with you on tour.'

"He's a performing machine, and loves playing live so he jumps at the opportunity whenever he can join us."

Tom also revealed the band may also record a track with Noel in the future.

He said: "We'd love to do a track with him. Never say never. But at the moment he's concentrating on his solo stuff and we're busy as ever."

Kasabian supported Oasis on their recent UK tour before the 'Wonderwall' rockers cancelled a number of shows after splitting in August.

However, Tom admits he didn't see any signs they were going to split.

He said: "Oasis were at the pinnacle of the music world for 16 years and despite touring with them this year, we didn't see any signs that they were falling apart."
