The vicious fight between Oasis brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher that ripped the band apart on Friday was sparked by an argument over the frontman's drinking, according to reports.
Guitarist Noel sensationally quit the band after a ferocious bust-up with singer Liam just minutes before they were due onstage at a music festival in France.
The star subsequently came out and blamed his brother for his decision to leave, insisting life in the band had become "intolerable."
Noel also mentioned the band's axed headline slot at the V Festival in Chelmsford, England last Sunday, hinting the cancellation was not down to Liam's throat virus, as had been previously claimed.
He wrote, "I can only apologise - although I don't know why, it was nothing to do with me. I was match fit and ready to be brilliant. Alas, other people in the group weren't up to it."
Now new reports claim Liam's boozing became an issue between brothers throughout their US tour this year and sparked the final fight in France after the frontman allegedly turned up to the gig drunk.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "Liam has been drinking heavily for the duration of the tour and regularly got very abusive and personal. He has taunted Noel's girlfriend Sara, other band members, and the crew. People have been frightened to go near him. He is one very angry man who needs to sort his issues out."

The future of rock group Oasis was plunged into doubt Saturday after lead guitarist Noel Gallagher dramatically announced he was quitting because he can no longer work with his brother Liam.

It brings an end to months of speculation about the future of Oasis, which was at the vanguard of the Britpop music wave of the mid-1990s and went on to become one of the most commercially successful British bands in years.
Lead singer Liam and Noel, his older brother and the main songwriter, have had a notoriously stormy relationship since the band formed in 1991, but rumours grew in recent days that their differences had become insurmountable.
"I think this is pretty major. Noel's a proud person, he won't go back on it. And he knows he could make a successful solo album," said Alan McGee, the founder of Creation Records and the man who originally signed the band.
He said it was a "really, really sad day" but predicted that they would "probably" work together again, even if it took years.
Noel, 42, announced his decision after the group suddenly cancelled a concert at a music festival near Paris on Friday, with organisers saying the brothers had had a fight backstage shortly before they were to play.A spokesman for the organisers of the Rock en Seine festival told the 30,000 crowd: "The group no longer exists. They will not play tonight and they are cancelling the rest of their European tour."
The director of the festival, Francois Missonnier, told journalists: "For reasons which are unclear, a fight broke out between the brothers. Noel left the festival and no one could make him come back."
British singer Amy Macdonald, who was playing at the festival, wrote on her Twitter page: "Oasis cancelled again with one minute to stage time! Liam smashed Noel's guitar, huuuge fight!"
Last weekend the band pulled out of a concert at the V Festival in Chelmsford, southern England, with organisers saying Liam, 36, had lost his voice due to viral laryngitis.
The cancellation prompted media suggestions of a split, but Liam rejected this on his Twitter page.
After Paris, Oasis had been scheduled to play at the Rock am See festival in Germany and in Milan. In his statement, Noel apologised to fans who had bought tickets for the concerts.
Liam revealed this month that his relationship with his brother was so bad that they no longer speak, travel separately on tour and only see each other on stage.
The group's fans took to Twitter to express their sadness at Noel's departure.
PsychedelicAdam posted: "Noel Gallagher leaves Oasis? Gutted, no more Oasis then I guess, they were one of my favourite bands."
Another fan, MattGriffin, said: "This is the worst day ever."
Liam was part of the original lineup of the band, then called The Rain, with Noel joining soon after.
They launched their debut album as Oasis, "Definitely Maybe", in 1994 and have since sold a reported 50 million records worldwide.
Their guitar-driven songs, with a nod to The Beatles, put them at the forefront of a wave of mid-1990s British music dubbed "Britpop" by critics, along with London-based Blur, with whom they had a public feud.
In 1995, they released the critically acclaimed album "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?", and "Be Here Now", released two years later, became the fastest-selling album in British chart history.
Reports of the brothers' rows and rock star excesses began filling newspapers, however, and the band's popularity waned.
But they found fresh success with recent albums "Don't Believe the Truth" and "Dig Out Your Soul".

Noel Gallagher has sensationally quit Oasis after a dramatic pre-concert fight with his bandmate brother Liam.
The Wonderwall rockers had a massive bust-up backstage at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, France, on Friday just minutes before they were due to perform.
It's claimed singer Liam smashed one of Noel's guitars, sending his brother into a fury. After a confrontation, a raging Noel stormed out and announced he has quit the band.
Noel says he is both sad and relieved to be walking away from Oasis after 18 years.
In a statement on the band's official website, he wrote: "It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight.
"People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.
"Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan."
Disappointed fans at Rock en Seine were told about the cancellation on giant screens with a message explaining that "an altercation within the band" was to blame.
Singer Amy McDonald also posted an account of the brothers' tussle on her Twitter.com page: "Cancelled again with one minute to stage time!!! Liam smashed Noel's guitar, huuuge fight!"
The split comes just days after Oasis axed a headline slot at the V Festival on Sunday, blaming Liam's throat infection. The band was nearing the end of its current world tour, which has been riddled with reports of battles between the brothers.
Earlier this week they were forced to release a statement denying split rumours. It read, "Oasis will complete the rest of the world tour in Europe and then take some well-earned time off before they begin to think about the next album and tour."
Oasis formed in Manchester in 1991, and were the biggest band of the Britpop movement in the 1990s. They sold more than 50 million records worldwide and had eight Number One singles in the charts.

Dearly beloved, it is with a heavy heart and a sad face that I say this to you this morning.
As of last Friday the 28th August, I have been forced to leave the Manchester rock'n'roll pop group Oasis.
The details are not important and of too great a number to list. But I feel you have the right to know that the level of verbal and violent intimidation towards me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable. And the lack of support and understanding from my management and band mates has left me with no other option than to get me cape and seek pastures new.
I would like firstly to offer my apologies to them kids in Paris who'd paid money and waited all day to see us only to be let down AGAIN by the band. Apologies are probably not enough, I know, but I'm afraid it's all I've got.
While I'm on the subject, I'd like to say to the good people of V Festival that experienced the same thing. Again, I can only apologise - although I don't know why, it was nothing to do with me. I was match fit and ready to be brilliant. Alas, other people in the group weren't up to it.
In closing I would like to thank all the Oasis fans, all over the world. The last 18 years have been truly, truly amazing (and I hate that word, but today is the one time I'll deem it appropriate). A dream come true. I take with me glorious memories.
Now, if you'll excuse me I have a family and a football team to indulge.
I'll see you somewhere down the road. It's been a fuckin' pleasure.

Una verdadera lección de filosofía
Sócrates (Nacido en Atenas) inicia la madurez de la filosofía occidental. Sin embargo Sócrates no escribió nada y sus pensamientos llegaron hasta nosotros por medio de los testimonios de sus discípulos.
El paso de los siglos ha tergiversado dichos pensamientos y los filósofos modernos se han encargado de demostrar su verdadero contenido, veamos:
'No hay poronga que les venga bien'
Onga fue el dios griego por excelencia, de manera que 'ir por Onga' significaba estar en la búsqueda de Dios, gozar de su protección. Diciendo 'No hay poronga que les venga bien', Sócrates retaba a aquellos discípulos que ya no creían en nada, ni siquiera en ese Dios. ¡Adviértase la sutileza y profundidad de esta frase!
'Un pelo de concha tira más que una yunta de bueyes'
En la antigua Grecia quien poseía una yunta de bueyes era considerado millonario debido al alto costo de cada buey. Por otro lado es sabido que las conchas marinas carecen por completo de pelos. Con esta metáfora, Sócrates quiso explicar que la felicidad no está en las cosas materiales y que lo verdaderamente esencial en la vida no tiene valor alguno. Los pelos de concha no existen y menos aún se pueden comprar. ¡Otra sublime parábola...!
'Agarrádmela con la mano'.
Al finalizar sus charlas, Sócrates se acercaba al discípulo más destacado, ofreciéndole su larga y rizada barba en reconocimiento a su dedicación y búsqueda continua y esmerada del conocimiento, al tiempo que decía la frase de marras. Cuando un seguidor de Sócrates estrechaba su barba había alcanzado la sabiduría. ¡Que simple y profundo ejemplo!!!!!!!
'Más vale chiquita y juguetona que grandota y bobalicona'
Aquí Sócrates señala que debemos fijarnos más en los pequeños acontecimientos de la vida que en los grandes y resonantes hechos, tales como gozar de fama, éxito o dinero.......¡Simple y sublime.......!

Cuando una mujer cometía algún pecado era castigada de la siguiente manera: Durante un mes se le servía su comida en el piso y debía comerla doblada sin sentarse. ¡Sabia utilización de la realidad!!!!!
'Sos un traga sables'.
Sócrates decía esta frase a quienes no se hacían cargo de sus culpas. Los traga sables eran artistas ambulantes, bufones que solían divertir a la gente por las calles de los pueblos.
Cuando un discípulo decía algo verdaderamente inoportuno o incoherente, Sócrates se echaba a reír y decía: 'Sos un traga sables' y esa era una terrible humillación. ¡Hasta en la reprimenda mostraba su elevado espíritu!
'Cállate y seguí chupando'.
Sócrates murió bebiendo una copa de cicuta. Mientras la bebía seguía impartiendo sus enseñanzas, por lo cual sus verdugos le decían 'Cállate y seguí chupando' ..¡Ejemplo hasta en su muerte!!!!!!!
Espero que quede claro el origen de estas frases, injustamente deformadas con sentidos que poco tienen que ver con los originales....
